Resealable vacuum pouch nominated for the Swiss Packaging Award 2017!

Vacuuming is a popular kind of fresh food preservation. The shelf-live of products may be increased up to eight times without using chemical additives. This year, the Swiss Packaging Award is being presented for the 48th time. 50 packaging solutions have been registered. With this prize, the Swiss Packaging Institute SVI honours outstanding achievements in packaging. The aim of the contest is to highlight creativity and innovation of the Swiss packaging industry. The public prize has been first introduced in 2003 as a special award. In this case, consumers and not the jury decide on the final winner. The award ceremony will take place on April 26, 2017, the first day of the Packaging Innovations trade show in Zurich.

Easy to use for consumers
The use of the new resealable vacuum pouch is very easy: The product is put into the pouch made of PET/PE and a vacuum is being created just like with conventional pouches. At home, the consumer keeps the adhesive flap back and cuts the pouch along the line of cut. To close the pouch, the adhesive flap on the backside made of kraft paper needs to be peeled off. The new pouch is also suitable for freezing.

Efficient sales promotional instrument
Nowadays consumers purchase with their eyes. The packaging is not only used for the preservation of food, it also needs to be an efficient marketing instrument. Printable on both sides, the design of the new pouch can already be customized for small quantities of 10‘000 pieces.
